Fantastic looking ship. With the VLS system, is that something that they are going to fit later, or an optional system that might never get fitted. The ships would seem t be a lot more useful if they had some AAW ability other than the 57mm.

I think it would be attractive to make it six barrels for the main artillery. Only four is very little for properly ranging in on targets(one of the many failures of the Outrageous class). The UK didn't seem to favor triple turrets, except for the Rodney class. And 6 x 16" guns is way too much gun ...

I believe those were where the reloads were kept. Although reloading in battle would probably be extraordinarily dangerous. :lol: -Matt It sure was dangerous if you were an American off Savo Island. The Aoba's were able to savage the Southern force, reload their tubes, then exterminate the Northern...

So basically a monitor, rather than a battleship? There's a bit of a difference in the intended role. Precisely. If the main use of the ship is going to be coastal bombardment then the ship should be optimized for that task. When you optimize a ship for coastal bombardment you end up with a monitor...
