Well, the canards were derived from the F-18 stabs apparently, so that might be a good starting point... although if it went into production, I'd assume they'd come up with something more, errr, sleek perhaps?

Anyways, nice stuff as usual. :p

I'm having hard time believing that Burt Rutan wasn't involved in the design... looks so much like a few of his things...

Seems a bit big for a cabin (although I can see the influence). Second row of seats and/or a sleeper cabin for the crew I presume, judging by the layout? The cab size might be a bit excessive for a normal sleeper cabin, but for something where you have systems in it, too, or being towed, it's not a ...

It depends a bit, it seems... postwar most aircraft (apart from the MG) seemed to have either the plane's given name or a combination of that and the manufacturer, while earlier it might've been just the manufacturer. Also the wartime numbers seem to have been more randomized (to conceal the actual ...

One note about the Finnish Sabre - the code NA seems a bit unlikely, despite standing for "North American" and being unused. It'd more likely be SA (or SB or SR), for Sabre. I'm not completely sure about the numbering system, as both the Gnat and later MiG-21s had the -1xx numbering system (Drakens ...

Great job on the Buccs and S-61 (as usual), DP! Any plans for a S-61R or the HH-3 versions? Also, what's the story behind the No. 208 Sqn aircraft?

Eswubes frenchies also made me think about switching away from the Constellation, buuuuuuut... after a Wiki read I like the Connies more. :D

Quite a nice job as always. I did notice the designs this morning, but didn't get around commenting them. The mid-section load bay without doors is a bit awkward (then again, it's a BTR... kind of), as is the lack of roof in the initial variants as mentioned. Another thing was the 17 passenger capab...

One thing - since WWII, the US forces have been a bit air force heavy. The lack of tactical missiles is partly explained by the number of cruise missiles and tactical, fighter delivered nukes. NATO airforces and somewhat the reliance on ground power in general was a fair reason for the Pact to have ...

As for the counting "50-75% of those to the active number" - mind that generally active number (look for example at publications like The Military Balance or Jane's World Armies) means all wearing uniform full-time at any given moment, regardless if they are career professionals with 20 years of ex...

@eswube: I'd say it's better have the reserves than not have them. Mind you, my experiences are based on the assumption of a largely defensive war against Soviet Union and nowadays Russia. Extra reserves can be called as needed, material supplies are needed anyways for normal operations (even in pea...
