County Class DD/DDG Preliminary designs to Production model 1948 to 1960 With the Daring class in production, the next generation of 'Destroyer' designs were to be promulgated. While classed as destroyers, the Daring class had been listed solely as "Daring's" as they were approaching cruiser size. ...

Thanks for your comments Hood.

I figured if I wanted to get a decent speed out of the hull then I would have to carry a lighter armament than a standard Dido type. Swap firepower for speed.

The base drawing I used was the L'Argentina 6" cruiser, its not based on any of your Dido class.

Thanks for the comments Miho.

Fitting AU ships into history takes a lot of reading to figure out where it is possible for your ship(s) to appear without overbalancing some historic event.

They are twin 4.5", not 5.25". Slightly smaller overall dimensions.

Interesting drawings and I concur with JSB and Hood, need a few more details to improve the look of the drawings. For the 1943 version, there would be extra depth charge throwers mounted along the sides, aft, to give a better 'pattern' of charges. Those would have been mounted 1940-41. The extra aft...

Wow!
The fastest battleship build I have ever seen. 14/3/38 to 02/06/40 - just 27 months. I don't think even the US built one that fast. Certainly not one your size of monster.
