Well, I'm sure it's bearing the load within the constructed cell, but that would be all. It's an interesting observation, though; I wasn't aware of this modification. Seems likely to be for small-caliber boghammer-bashing weapons, but that's wholly a guess on my part.

I wouldn't be extremely surprised if RAM eventually went to a 3x3 arrangement (5" missiles, compared to 21" Tomahawk eg), but I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't. Pad could be bigger, hangar definitely needs to be for so many aircraft as that. I see no reason that a SPY-1F/Mk-41 FREMM would not be possible.

I favor the US system for a variety of reasons, but I am about out the door right now and don't immediately have time to explain.

I would certainly expect the depth charges aft to be landed for lightweight ASW torpedos. The latter were initially considered (at least in the USN) to be a depth charge replacement, with negligible range but a very large effective damage radius.

The battleship surely does not have much to fear from modern (Western) AShMs from a hull-integrity point of view, but that's not the point in the modern world. Electronics are effectively un-armor-able, and will be torn up nicely by the warhead on a modern AShM - that's what they're for, after all. ...

RAM was first tested out of Mk 41 only a few weeks ago, so you're not THAT dated. I still think you're going to have serious stability problems with such a large Mk 41 mounted that high above the waterline on a hull this small. 48 cells is a shitload anyway; this is as many cells as a freaking Type ...
