It looks like McConrads (or whoever was faking his name) wanted to kill the channel. I can think of two reasons to do this. 1: Simple desire to shut the channel down. Why? Just curious as to the reason for this? Blanket IP bans of everyone, even those who did or said nothing critical?

Is the point to annihilate the IRC channel? If so, why?

Addendum:

The EMRG and C-PAWS weapons have been removed from all ships. Edit necessary for SMS continuity.

If General Atomics gets one actually working (and Secy. Gates doesn't axe it), the EMRG may return.

I recently got ahold of some new resource data, including a closeup of L-59's control car. These clearly show she had the "Height-Climber" style control and engine cars, rather then the L-30 style :standard" ones.
