I'm not sure, there hasn't been much in the way of details so its all conjecture, but I've put in 8 Mk41 self-defence cells there. I feel if they were installed there then the ESSMs would be fitted entirely in that position (if it were Mk41 you could quad-pack for 32), opening up room for longer len...

I happened to notice that there hasn't been much, if any, attention given towards the replacement program from the Royal Australian Navy's ANZAC frigates, so I felt it might be nice to present some (admittedly rough) approximations of the designs that have been offered (including those that didn't m...

Alrighty, I've done up a bunch of modules. Whilst it may not look it, the modules actually go down into the hull a number of decks (down to about where the hull transitions from sloping outward to inward) To start with, here she is with no modules installed http://i.imgur.com/3gzOAsl.png Expanded au...

Had trouble sleeping, so I thought what better way to not sleep than draw up a little something for shipbucket. So here it is, my first real design, the Hedonist Open yacht offered by Art of Kinetik (check out their website here, very slick http://www.artofkinetik.com/hedonist-open.html) http://i.im...

I finally got my university assignments out of the way, so I've been busy working away trying to incorporate as many suggested improvements and fixes as possible: http://i.imgur.com/HrLHBlE.png Changes: - Length increased to 130m (hangar and flightdeck can more easily fit MH-60, though I still have ...

Been working away on a frigate for the past few weeks, in between assignments. Figured I'd still put it in Beginners though because still early days in my ship designing life. Originally inspired by the BMT Venator 110 concept, it sort of kept growing until I ended up with a basic design with a numb...

First, I think I might just say a big thankyou to everyone for the warm welcomes and high appraisals! Thought I might just address some questions and points raised, so will probably be a slightly lengthy post... I like the looks, but I'm curious, would would the 40mm be removed, it seems very useful...

Been busy working away on a customs variant of the Fortitude, somewhat inspired by the transformation of the Armidale class into the Cape Class. Here she is, I hope you like her... http://i349.photobucket.com/albums/q388/thegrumpykestrel/Fortitude%20Class%20Axe%20Bow%20Customs%20Mod_zpslrgvzpl6.png ...

Yeah, the hull was my biggest concern when doing it. It's really just stop gap at the moment until I figure out what. As for the bow, originally it was inverted with the foredeck sloping down to meet it, but I felt that would badly effect seakeeping so I made it more conventional and raised it a lit...
