Very excellent drawings. Two questions: What are the pipe-guard-like structures in front of the centerline 5"/45 turrets? I wouldn't expect these director-controlled mounts to require such structures. Any thought to mounting the radar on the aft secondary director on the front face of the director, ...

  I knew that comment would get your attention. I'm away from the bulk of my technical library right now (dang day job), but it was basically universal to provide some armor protection to the steering gear on later battleships. Dunkerque from Wikipedia (sorry) Visible (although thickness n...

In addition to being very competently executed from a pixel-bashing standpoint, it feels "real", which is about as high a complement as I think one can pay an AU. This is another drawing which demonstrates the incredible strides the Shipbucket style has made over the last few years, and walks right up to the line where to add more detail would actually detract from the drawing. An incredible production.

Three cheers for the pale-blue 3x3 porthole :D

My main concern would be stability at high speeds without the stabilising effect of a conning tower. If anything, underwater stability and control ought to be better, not worse. Stability in pitch will obviously be unaffected. Stability and controllability in yaw should improve -- since the sail on...

I have some color quibbles (I'd change to a more modern blue, and I think the anchor is a little too gold, retention award notwithstanding), but it's unquestionably an excellent drawing. I'm happy to see it.
