It takes a certain deft hand to draw thoughtful, sensible, recognizable missile ships in both the 1960s-1980s aesthetic and the modern low-observable style, without looking like you're merely aping a real-life navy's evolution. You are one of the masters of that art. The designs, the drawings, the e...

I like the novelty factor of saying "actually, this personal design is underloaded with combat systems".

Ah, I see the sponsoned SPG-51 now. 2x2 is definitely better than 2x1, but not as good as 4x1. You'd tend to expect the threat to come along a single axis, and the Tico arrangement is definitely not ideal (it's worth noting that CGN-42 and the CSGN both would have had a 4x1 arrangement of SPG-62). S...

Sorry to hear about your offline news, Blackbuck. Your T43/13 is pretty attractive. I do think it suffers from a paucity of illuminators -- I know that the WM20s each offer a channel, but it's an uphill climb with such a small aperture. As I understand it (I don't recall the source), the FFG-7s foun...

Both interesting concepts and well executed from an artistic perspective. I think the Tribal is particularly well-shaded, effectively showing shape without being overdone. Canadian ships of the period certainly had some interesting shaping to ward off icing. Was Type 984 really a plausible fit as la...

Quite lovely, and I agree this will be one to watch. For what it's worth, I think an all-3" secondary is much more likely. It's worth looking at some of the torpedo boats of the time and impressing upon yourself just how small they were. Secondaries smaller than about 4" did rapidly lose effectivene...

Sources frequently do not indicate whether they refer to navigational draft (i.e., over the sonar dome) or the keel draft. It's better to work off of plans you trust. In addition to others' comments, I think the electronics fit is pretty sub-optimal. Concentrating all of those systems on a single ma...

APRAPS is not an acronym I'd seen associated with that effort, so that'll be a useful google term in the future! It's a nicely-drawn effort, although in common with a lot of paper sketches from that era, it seems stupendously overloaded with combat systems and electronics. Nearly as bad as some begi...

I certainly have nothing to add. It's excellent work, inching right up to the line of what might be over-detailed at this scale.
