There was actually a plan to launch V2's from submarines! But, in true Harrington style, they were to be towed in a pod behind the submarine until they were within firing range of the eastern sea board. Amusingly, it's already drawn: http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s60/scifibugc/TypeXXI-Prufstand...

@Barnest2, that was my original thought. 'ABetterName' as a username sure seems like someone trying to start anew.
You know what, the drawings are pretty good. I can take a crazy AU with that.

I think the LIDAR set either the foremost object on top of the wheelhouse or the mount on the small blockhouse just aft of it. Hood's right from what I can see, very much looks like a LIDAR Thanks guys We've now ended up with 16 players, and the GM is wondering whether the ship is a bit small for t...

It's just normal Navigation and surface search radar. There is also an searchlight up there.
Is that not the LIDAR system they apparently mount? If not, any idea where that would be?

Thanks, I had a feeling they were, just wanted to be sure.

Hi people. It's been a while, hasn't it. ANyway, I come to you today not with a drawing, but with a question. Can anyone ID the radar sets on this, the Hateruma class patrol boat? It's part of the Japanese Coast Guard and it's a pain in the ass getting details on it. Thanks for any help. http://www....

Feck, just lost a big old post... Right, lets get the barebones of that back out. Interesting thoughts on a Conveyor type ship. The ships carried and flew off 14 harriers and carried an additional 11 helicopters during the Falklands conflict. The SS Atlantic Causeway , her sister ship, was apparentl...

An OPV with hangar for two Sea king could be based on Engadine, but the Zell program was not successful. Weight is another matter. Sorry, I didn't mean a specific Zell program, but just the general concept. Rockets and a ramp :D Plus, in regards to weight, an empty weight Sea Harrier is only 14k po...

So, I have an idea for the 70's flagship design. I'm pondering something truly ridiculous based on the RFA Engadine design. By the 70's, the GTC's air arm would be flying (presumably) some form of VTOL craft, almost certain to be the harrier. So here's my idea. Take the Engadine (I'm drawing it curr...

A couple from Trojan, because I use a sensible uploader rather than one that goes dead for weeks :P First is the high speed transport idea discussed above for use in high risk areas and for high value bulk cargoes. Based on the Guam. https://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/1000x385q90/673/IzL1Py.png She a...
