Ok, made some changes. Its now a more traditional axle system. Plus its interior articulated sections can be more clear now I imagine.

Tried my hand at it. Its dimensions are probably wonky, though I do want to note that the doors are intended to be double wide. They use a set of wheels similar to the Talgo wheels, but these are able to draw power from a third rail. The trains are also articulated in such a manner as to allow passe...

The Regio 2N looks like a cool train. I want to make a inner-city bi-level subway train version of it. Perhaps with a flat nose like you see on many US subways. Even found a nice technical document (PDF warning): http://www.bombardier.com/content/dam/Websites/bombardiercom/Events/Supporting%20Docume...

This might have been asked before, but why not organize things like with the forums? Real designs, Never Built designs, alternate universe designs and personal designs?

I was tempted to re-write the scenario where Japan is winning the war and an American Yamato pushes out from LA as part of some final American Ten-Go type operation. But I was worried that would go over like a lead balloon. So instead, I would name the additional Japanese carriers the 'Humour-Me' ta...

So I was playing with this idea in my head and wanted to share. A fictional American battleship of proportions similar to the Yamato, but with American-quality weaponry has just finished escorting a group of lend lease ships to a naval base in the Soviet Union's far east. The cargo ships were small ...

So is it basically the same thing with the 1920's unbuilt South Dakota class?

Another question: What was up with the Montana? if 3x3 is optimal, why go with 4x3? My guess is that it had to do with the lack of 18" guns for the ship, if it had 18" guns it would have stayed 3x3.

Ok, great outline and explanation. So I might aim for two designs, a 'cheap' 3x3 and an 'expensive' 4x2. In my AU, the country building these lacked good aeronautical capability compared to their rival, so their carriers are well behind by the end of the war (which came about by winning the war on t...

Yeah I think I will do that, what about the Nelson class? I do love that gun arrangement, but what was the effect on armor layout for that ship? That was a 3x3 but arranged all front.
