I am following this thread with great interest. Many earlier designs that I had forgotten about.

Keep up the good work!

Here is the CCGS Louis S. St-Laurent in her original configuration prior to her extensive and costly modernization in 1988. When she began service in the spring of 1968, she was considered the most powerful conventionally powered ice breaker afloat. Particulars: LOA: 110m Beam: 24m Displacement: 13,...

It's a detail that is not readily apparent. I could not visually tell the difference and to manipulate a program to find a detail to nitpick and call sloppy is really too much. The focus should be on getting the physical characteristics correct to accurately portray the ship that they are drawing. T...

This is my version of the Hamilton class High Endurance Cutters as originally built. Squizzy did an outstanding job with his designs and the later FRAM versions are prominently detailed on the web. The class as originally designed and built is sorely under represented. Originally 32 units were plann...

Yes I did. Actually it's the only reference that I could find. I like it because it seems, based on the design, to be simple yet effective. It remains to be seen if the Kiwi's follow through with it.

It's a long winded vessel type description, however this is the proposed vessel that is intended to replace the HMNZS Resolution and HMNZS Manawanui. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/55269464/LWSCV%20_%200.png A small excerpt ...
