First of all, most naval/field guns are capable of using what's referred to as RAP munitions, and have been so since RAP munitions were first introduced in 1963 or so. You don't need to design a complicated gun to fire rockets because we already have rockets that can be fired out of guns in inventor...

Densky is...to put it not-so-kindly, a hot mess. Any meaningful improvements would just revert it back to being a DDG-51. It would be more meaningful to attempt a ship from scratch.
