Still triple screws by the looks of it?
Yes. The hull is (nearly) equal to P-class cruiser. 12 diesels working on 3 shafts.

The second ship of the Admiral Brommy-class was the Admiral Arnim. She was commissioned in feb. 1944 and diferred from Brommy to her state-of-the-art-radar. Her armament was not changed only 8 Foehn-launchers were added. The heavy radar euipment was mostly added to existing optical directors, the ta...

The P-class cruisers seemed good balanced ships but the loss of Graf Spee showed the danger of concentrating the firepower on two turrets only. So the orders for two P-class ships were changed into Seydlitz-class CA successors. The hull was taken from P-class as the nontroubled Diesel engines. A new...

I am german and I drive the Kriegsmarine '46 thread. I once was called nazi (yes, in this forum!) but that's ok. I think all relevant people know I'm not and those who still believe that shit can go to hell or somewhere worse.
I would be glad to see your thread.

I like it. Looks like a usable scout for battlefleets.

Good argument. So the Ersatz-Yorck becomes from now on the Yorck-class BCs. SMS Yorck inherited her name from the armoured cruiser of 1903 that was lost to a fatal mine hit in 1914. The Yorck class BC were the last class of german battlecruisers. Armed with 8x15" guns she was the counterpart of the ...

Just FYI, if they had actually been constructed it's not likely they would've been called "Erzatz Yorcl" (which literally means "Replacement Yorcl") class.
This is true, but until there is an official name for the class it is Ersatz-Yorck-class, as said in any literature.

The 'Karl der Große' stayed in Spain under german flag until 1939. Then Franco bought her as replacement for the old Espana-class dreadnoughts. After the loss of the second Espana in 1937 the 'Karl der Große' was renamed Espana in 1939 after the purchase. http://img259.imageshack.us/img259/3164/bces...

The last german battlecruiser, 'Kaiser Karl der Große' of the Ersatz-Yorcl-class in its 1934 appearance. Now with catapult on turret c and a handling crane. The old 8,8cm aa are replaced by new ones. 'Karl der Große' fought on nationalist side at the spanish civil war. She was granted to Franco for ...

Nice cruiser design, but I think there is a new version of the He-60 available.
