Its size really is dictated by the need to carry Talos magazines for three launchers (those suckers are long ). This is why the most ever shipped was just two launchers. The problem is that your third GMLS is really not very functional. I would suggest that you go a different route with this. With ...
The missile illuminators you're using right now are probably sufficient for the smaller point-defense (ish) missile, but almost surely lack the power aperture necessary to take advantage of the larger-airframe SAM. I would replace them with substantially larger illuminators.
This drawing seems to use the shading pattern with the light source somewhat forward of 'high noon' (to be clear, my preferred variation). However, this means that the rear-facing 5.25" turrets should be shaded differently from the forward-facing ones. Likewise the 15" turrets. And I echo about Colo...
Three Talos is almost certainly not feasible on a hull of anything less than supertanker size. You've already discovered why. The combination of huge GMLS itself and requirement for very-nearby beam projectors (which you've already broken) just destroy the concept. I have done much pondering on the ...
"usefulness" means "having use" or "being good for something". It's a good thing.
"useless" means "has no use" or "is not good for anything". It's a bad thing. I believe this is what you mean in your picture.
There isen't actually any rules of submarine shading existing. Its seems to be the wild west of the Shipbucket where only good looks reign. But The sub looks "by the book" to me. Well, as you have recently and correctly pointed out, the One True Style is really suited to modern ships with many flat...
I do agree that the stern is of questionable sense. I suspect the sonar dome (being a rather higher frequency unit) is narrow enough that anchors aren't a huge issue, but I'm not going to stress too much about it. Definitely the less important issue right now.
