may I suggest you stop on this ship, and select an easier one... sailing ships are extremely hard, and only the best in here have good results on them. also, it looks like your reference isn't an exact sideview, which isn't correct. I don't have enough time to pressure myself ;) so don't worry. with real world scales I mean when I say 1 meter in an 3d model, that is really 1 meter, and not something in scale with the real world.... that way, all my models can work with each other without scaling them, but other modellers someti...
