Eventually, the ships were transferred to the Navy. They kept their Army names and were classed as Troop Transport (AP). This is USS Zeilin AP-9 in early 1942. She’s painted in Measure 3, overall light gray.

So... I've reworkded the shading on the hull plating and darkened the anchor. What do you think? I've also added some shadow at the Forcastle flare and the stern.
