I've been drowning in university assignments recently, but I found a little time to quickly assemble a basic structure to the aviation component of the RWN https://i.imgur.com/RFrpvYt.png The Royal Westralian Naval Air Arm is comparatively large, and expensive to the likes of Australia's Fleet Air A...

Thanks all for the compliments. Just to explain some things about Albany, I figured that the design would be something of a lower-end LPD, almost like a Bay-class LSD but with a hangar. CIWS was something of an afterthought, but it would probably be fitted with an extra gun to the rear of the flight...

ALBANY LANDING PLATFORM DOCK HMWS Albany is the sole member of its class of LPD, and forms the Albany Amphibious Detachment. Commissioned in 2000 to replace the former Albany, a Fearless-class LPD purchased in 1966, Albany heralded the beginning of the modernisation of the RWN, utilising new constru...

Just as a small note, I've updated the Broome and Perth Classes slightly. Waterwings and Mihoshik's excellent new Type 45 drawing is now serving as the basis for the Perths, and I've changed some weapons around for both classes

Beginning in the early 1990s, the RWN began to consider the development or procurement of a replacement class of submarine for the Type 209-based Menace -class, which had first entered service in the mid-1970s. Numerous studies were undertaken over the following years trying to decide what capabilit...

ZUYTDORP CLASS MULTI-ROLE VESSEL Named for notable historic ships wrecked on the Westralian coast, the Zuytdorp class perform hydrographic survey and limited mine-countermeasures duties in the Royal Westralian Navy, and form the core of Auxiliary Group. The extended range and limited ice-strengtheni...

RIVER (III) CLASS TANKER As the Royal Westralian Navy's existing River (II) Class replenishment tankers began to age in the mid-2000's, the RWN instigated plans for a replacement. However this was subsequently deferred until the mid-2010's, at which point the NWS shipyard was already occupied with t...

After the RWN decommissioned the Guided Missile Destroyers Perth and Kalgoorlie in the early 1990s, Westralia was without any form of naval area air defence for a considerable period of time. Over a decade after their retirement, in 2005, the Navy instituted a program to restore that lost capability...

It may be a tad top-heavy yes, but I lined it up alongside a number of other modern frigates and it never seemed it have much difference in draught, at most maybe 3ft less than some of the larger frigates I compared it with. With the Fridtjof Nansen, which physically I feel it matches with the close...
