Interesting... any more details on her state of preservation though? The article states she's well preserved by then proceeds to describe the site (in a somewhat contradictory manner) thus: The wreckage is reportedly solid oak and the seabed is strewn with bronze cannons... Which would seem to sugge...

First, that Radar you've stuck just fowards of the SSM launchers is baldy positioned... much of it's field of view fowards will be blocked by the superstructure. Second, the two 57mm Bofors aft will eat into the beam avalible for the hanger... I'd actually be suprised if you'd fit one helo in there ...

First, the Armidale class has been built, so you've posted it in the wrong sub-forum. Second, she's already been done: http://shipbucket.com/images.php?dir=Real%20Designs/Australia/PB%20ARMIDALE%20%201.png Third, your version is out of scale by about 10m. Still, the drawing is a decent early-shot at...

Damn good start... few minor niggles though: 1. Somewhat mixed up light AA armourment... You've got both 20mm Oerlikons and whatever that twin/quad mounts atop B and X turrets are. 2. Heavy/Medium AA is on the heavy side for a modest sized cruiser. 18 4in HA/LA guns and what I think are 15 3in mount...

One wonders how many of these the Japanese could've built with the materials from the Yamato-class... In a raw sum of all steel in the Yamato class diverted to this class quite a few... In reality, not so many. The Japanese would still face serious capacity constraints (number of slips to build shi...

Seems like a fairly sound design, though the I Mast doesn't quite fit with the superstructure... it's a stealthy design while the superstructure isn't (few angled bits and a lot of clutter out in the open) - suggesting something of a mish-mash of late 80s/early 90s supersturcture with 2010 sensor fi...

Not a bad start but not really shipbucket style yet. Suprisingly sane for a Nationstates design (eight 15" guns rather than three dozen 30" guns, a few dozen ICBMs and lasers...), though the secondary battery is a bit unusual (9" and 8" is really a bit much duplication - drop one or the other... als...

One last comment: Aster-30 and SM-2? I think that's probably needless duplication of area defense SAM capability... particularly when you've got an AEGIS equiped ship (already designed to take the Standard series missiles while integration of Aster would be time consuming and expensive).

Okay, shadings is out of whack (too dark, IIRC) on the sloped sections of the hull. Three shafts is also kinda weird on a modern combatant and the vessel doesn't appear to carry a sonar of any variety. Other than that it seems to be a reasonable and fairly well balanced design for a first shot at a ...
