Even with dual pods (Has anyone ever done a single pod as primary drive?) I still don't think you'll be able to propel a ship this large into the 20kts+ zone. The pods you have would look at home on a 18-22kts supply ship half the size, and they often have three, if not more.

Yes they do, and it's annoying as hell since it blocks a good chunk of my regular sites at random intervals and for no apparent reason. For instance, it has blocked the second page of Golly's Red Finland thread and marked it as Games, but not the first page. Also, from time to time, it blocks its ow...

Well, the Type 140 is also known as the Jaguar Class.

I realize this i a bit of an odd thing to ask, but would any of you guys be kind enough to access these pages, copy the contents and send them to me as a PM? It's the preview of the latest Honorverse book by David Weber. For some reason, WebSense believes it's a social networking site, and has conse...

Pick one from a ship of similar size and age. It's an AU, even if it's based on never build designs.

Be that as it may, but the fact of the matter is that that type of prop simply doesn't work on ships. The metallurgy required to make such a prop in bronze or brass didn't exist back then, indeed, it doesn't exist today. Most likely, the screws in your source materiel is just there to show were the ...

Your screws needs some work. What you've drawn is essentially an aircraft prop, and that doesn't work under water.

Great, I'll do that. Here's the first part. I had to split the upload in three parts, otherwise, they'd be too big to upload. Edit: And that's the last of them. The following drawings should be deleted from the database, since the upload contains vastly improved versions of them. P505 Makrellen P507...
