BTW, the one vital difference (apart from the obvious ones, duuh!) was that the Olympias had a 5" armor-belt, designed to defeat the newest Italian heavy cruisers' 8" shell fire at an immunity zone of 15,000 yards (13,700 meters) The weight was compensated for by the fitting of the lighter cage mast...

I've tried to get the paint.net to work and never succeeded. However, it was paint that messed it up. I've recolored the ship again - and this time I believe I got the Measure 5-N quite right!

My typo...you're right. It was; in order to create an immunity zone of 18,000 ft against 5"gun fire... Being tired tonight with my youngest in hospital and semi-chaos at home...

Actually, what I did was to copy a bulk of the 5-N to my Olympia palette and there and then mix it up, so, I'd say, it's the 5-N; unless my paint is completely screwed-up!

Yeah, I agree with the thickness thingy...I mean there was a certain amount of thickness, (5in) but certainly not too much, albeit you still can see the run of the armor belt clearly in pictures. Thanks btw!

The armor belt has been reshaded, into, what I believe is a muh more pleasing form. (Be patient, more ships to come, but family matters always has a knack of interferring; today my youngest went to the hospital, so bear with me...)

Olympia, depicted during 1940/41 has been updated. I repainted the hull to more closely confirm to the USN Measure 5-N (Navy Blue), using Colo's terrific palette! I also edited her looks somewhat, and streamlined such things as the armor belt. (Also on the peace-time Olympia of 1935 p. 1) The wartim...

Yeah, that actually sounds good! Would it be a reference that I can easily apply for paint?(Since that's the application I have; not being at all that sophisticated...) Again, thank you for your help, it's much appreciated!

Ian, I'm fine with that, and, if you'd have any questions, please let me know, and I'll be more than happy to reach out. Yeah, I can consider doing the Chicago as of 1942/43, but , quite frankly am not that hyped about it. The Augusta as of Atlantic Charter Fame, yeah, maybe... And, as for coloring,...
