The intakes I find them okay IF the plane is a two engine design. For one engine only, they'd be too big. At the end, I suppose the black part is meant to be the exhaust of the afterbrurner(s). .

I don't find the project itself as being "ugly"... It might just be that the superstructure's height is too big (= massive) in proportion to the length of the hull. Shorten it by some 30% or so and I think a "nicier" look would come out.
