Thanks all for the comments and suggestions. I'm trying to reign in the shading to as few shades as I can without loosing the information I'm trying to impart in the drawing. At the same time I'm trying to keep it within the realm of drawings that have been accepted for upload (as in number of shade...

Great letter! SEALS are cooler. I know a Frogman age 78 (UDT/Frogmen became the Seals near the start of Viet Nam). Dad's still good for about 3 minutes holding his breath. Taught me to do it, then I started smoking so I'm good for about 2 minutes now. A semi-meditative state underwater helps a lot.....

That resizing issue with Photobucket is pissing me off. Thought I had a Q/C fix....clearly not. I've seen some threads with several suggestions for better sites. Which has the BEST overall performance and ease of use? http://i1016.photobucket.com/albums/af282/craigh666/Wampanoag/V12USSWampanoag1000x...

Thiel is likely correct on there being no spirit sail. That yard and standing rigging is to impart stiffness to the bowsprit. I'd rig the studding sail booms if practical...rigging that gear while underway would be an oppeeational nightmare for the crew. On texturing sails, do them before standing a...

Raxar,
No time for an FD El Toro. Too busy beating my head against my monitor over graded shading VS Shipbucket shading on turrets, hulls, and other curved surfaces.

Thank you Hood. This was a drawing started some time ago in Corel Draw. The shading has been "dummed down" in an effort to approach Shipbucket style yet retain some semblance of the roundness that's a key feature of the shape. A tough compromise...Shipbucket style doesn't lend itself to representing...
