Thanks for that Novice,

I was beginning to worry I had done something fundamentally wrong that I just could not see.

High praise from someone who did all the 'C's, (mind you about 80-85% of the drawing is yours to begin with), some praise for yourself would not go amiss..

Heuhen Yes lets look at the QE type, at the amount of topweight added to them with their rebuildings, are they too top heavy? I have added no more topweight than added to the QE's. Since the Badens started with a lot more positive buoyancy than the QE's I do not think their will be any problem. The ...

I have added a side view with bulges added, though I am not sure whether the ship would require them, their was a difference of 10.5 feet breadth between the width of a Revenge Class and Baden Class battleship. Heuhen it is that deep because it had a draught of 31 feet, I have put a measure next to ...

In 1919 the German Fleet scuttled itself at Scapa Flow. One battleship was saved, SMS Baden, which was run aground in shallow water before it sank. The Royal Navy used the Baden for various tests from 1919 through to destruction in 1921. Thats 'Real Life', how boring. Lets say the RN do tests on the...

Thanks Novice, I've edited the bridge (removed the glasshouse off the front which seems to be a 'C' only part), altered the length of the rib thingy on the lower hull (sorry, can't remember the name - old age thing), I had already edited the hull as the 'D's had 6" more draught than the 'C's. The ri...

I only caught on to this thread a couple of weeks ago, and went through page by page with eyes wide open.

The way you have depicted the various parts of each formation makes it very easy to understand.

Excellent work Caddaric79

Thanks for your comments Hood, To do the original layout changes from Novices 'C' class unit to the 'D' above I used 3 high res pics of 'D's between 1924 and 1927. Even at that stage there were variations between the ships. I only had one pic of Dunedin itself from an NZ site, depicting Dunedin when...

Hi Ad, It was actually the other way round, RAF doctrine of the time had the focal point of the guns set at 200 yards. Which of course if you opened fire too far away or too close then too much dispersal of the rounds fired took place. During the B.O.Brit the better pilots ignored the instructions a...
