The LC-130 reminds me of my childhood : I(*) used to buy the weekly "Avions de guerre", the one about C-130 sported a huge drawing of a LC-130 taking off with RATO.

Is that the 1962 test plane ? I though that the TACAMO mission were EC-130G, EC-130Q and later E-6.

Yup, that's pretty much what it was designed for. I know it was used by at least one British police department. In fact in many ways since the Police doesn't need to be able to land anywhere special (Unlike rescue and military operators) it could be considered superior for that application. Hampshi...
