I really like this. Great work! I think Ark Royal was the
best looking of all RN carriers.

I really like this one. Ark Royal pointed the way
towards the Illustrious class. One point though.
When you make the other changes, have all your
aircraft in silver. I don't think that the Fleet Air Arm
went camo until 1939.

The US Navy has used the CH-46 for VERTREP (Vertical
Replenishment, or supply movement by helicopter) for the
last 35 - 40 years. I don't think that this class of ships was
in service before that.

Thanks for the info. I do know what it is. The why has me confused. It's a great color for decks, and was used with gray hull and superstructure, but, for my money it's way too dark for the prevalent horizon colors on most days at sea. Wow! This looks wonderful. I have seen a few drawings
in magazines about this never-built supercarrier, but none
of them did this design any justice. I wonder, if this ship
had been built, would most (or all) of the carriers in the
USN today have no island superstructure?
