Great work Bill. Shame about the base differences but getting those pixels right is hell. I guess ten people could draw the same ship and none of them would be identical.
That's one thing that makes Shipbucket special, talent and drawing skills plays a bigger part than some folks think it does.
That is a beauty! A tremendous piece of work. You must have worked hard. I can't find many faults and you've used the correct turrets and 5.25in turrets and everything. You've come a long way since you joined and this just tops the bill as my fave drawing of late (pushing even the Kirov aside). One ...
A great looking little FAC, quite practical and it looks good too both in shipbucket terms and in overall looks. Chaff/flare launchers are basically rifled mortars anyway so I can't see why a 120mm mortar wouldn't work (I'm sure Israel or some nation like that uses a 120mm mortar for just such a rol...
There are a few faults, which are inherent in kitbashing. The after main rangefinder between the Mk37 and the funnel has no room to turn at all and poor field of vision. Ditch it. The forward one is ok-ish but probably needs more room too. The platform on the rear tripod is too close to the funnel.....
A vast improvement on the old Kirov on the bucket in every way (it now looks attractive as well as mighty). I never realised that the underwater section of hull was so bumpy and lumpy. Those fins or whatever they are must create some drag but perhaps they were neccessary to counterbalance the topwei...
Great work on Victorious, all these carriers are looking great and Centaur also looks good. There could be many versions of the basic hull as they chaged over the years with various roles etc.
Hmm, interesting. At first I thought, Oh No Erik has caught "Kirovitis" (the disease that forces you to take a Kirov lengthen it to 800m and then add 20in guns, 400 Granits and sixty 3-D radars, ususally AEGIS for no other reason that 'it looks cool') but no this is actually something you can look a...
