I have updated (above) my G3 follow on. A few q's 1) should I add more 40mm's I have 8x8 but I have room for 6 more on the big flat superstructure? 2) internal or external belt (ie g3 or KVG or Iowa ) and all the arguments of what is better (and more importantly should I have portholes) ? (I have 14...

my ABC very front heavy G3+, I think this would be a good bb to hunt down bismark or italians but I will admit that it might not be so good at parking in windy conditions or keeping no11 happy with the peace time fuel bill.

http://www.majhost.com/gallery/JSB/Shipbucket/gb_g4.3.png Personally I like Nelsons and g3s (does that make me weird ? ) but since in real life the RN didn’t like nelson by 1935-7, I have to think that they might not like the G3 (but maybe they didn’t like nelson due to it reminding them of ...

What would a world without cheery trees be like ? First I assume that everybody would run out of cash and or will power after a few ships, I assume RN only builds 4 ? G3s / IJN builds the two Kaga-class battleships, and two Amagi-class battlecruisers ? USN builds 4 South Dakota 2 Lexington ? (is tha...

Hi Karle94,

Real Dreadnought
Length: 527 ft (160.6 m)
Beam: 82 ft 1 in (25.0 m)
L/B = 6.43

Mine
L 502 / 72 = 6.97

so mine has higher (therefore faster ?) L/B ratio ? unless depth has much to do with it (but thats quite close so dont think so) ?

http://www.majhost.com/gallery/JSB/Shipbucket/bb_dreadnought_3.3.png I have made few changes. 1) longer centre for engines (spring sharp at the bottom says I need 90m for Eng+Mags) 2) removed the 3inch guns on turrets (I don’t really like them due to ammo handling etc and I still have 22, not the 2...

http://www.majhost.com/gallery/JSB/Shipbucket/bb_dreadnought_3.1.png This shows my ideas for BR/TR/Mags, yes I agree its tight ( but the turbines are in a wider part of the ship ?). My thoughts are that no wing turrets will give a wider engine rooms and more space without a wider ship ? How much lo...

http://www.majhost.com/gallery/JSB/Shipbucket/bb_dreadnought_2.8.png Ok my thoughts are.. Option 2 is the most historical I think but it (and option 1 take lots of length) and will heat up the aft powder room for Y turret ? Option 3 gives a much shorter ship (and I think the loss of a turret saves ...

http://www.majhost.com/gallery/JSB/Shipbucket/bb_dreadnought_2.5.png not finished by any means but any coments welcome. JSB Edit : I can't make up my mind about X/Y turret what do you think is best ? 1 less weight high up , but longer than 3 ? 2 will mean mixing turbines and magazines (bad for heat...
