the stacks look like they should be on another design, not in the same style as the rest of the ship. I've always thought the
USN's 70's designs were never as pleasing to the eye as some other navies ships.

Aesthetically? I can't say. The "standard" conning tower look more "normal" to me but that's because I'm more familiar with US subs. But I think its significant that some future blocks of the Virginia are shown with teardrop shaped cons.
