Will we get a follow-up T-800 class eventually, and if so, will it be named after the indomitable Admiral Schwarzenegger?

That is off-centre - the porch should line up with the door at the back of the porch, not the front of the porch, no?

Hi Tristan, Looks good, but I see a lot of topweight (radars, directors, not to mention the MGs and AA) - any bulges to mitigate the stability changes there? One option would be to remove the spotting top, which, if the radar and the directors are working, is largely redundant, I think. I think anot...

Hi K, That ship looks lovely, but I do query your accuracy - from figures given, your accuracy vs Gneisenau (in poor weather, no less) is 20%, good accuracy given the conditions - does Panacea have radar ranging at this point? (the '42 picture shows radar but you do mention that at the start of the ...

Hi Maomatic,

One other thing - I note that the base length on the rangefinders has gone up by 10-20% on the 1940B - any word on why? The turrets seem to be the same as on at least some of the earlier H-class, so I'm assuming a similar sort of range from the guns...

Hi K, From what I remember, it's less "no aircraft" and more "none specified on the plan" - maomatic's trying to be as faithful to the (fairly lightweight) plan as he can be, iirc. Ad Edit: Found it: 2. Airplanes: Leaving off the planes was a conscious decision I made, because my reference picture w...

As always, maomatic, that looks fantastic.

Would you be able to collect all of the drawings on the first post? It'd just make it easier to compare the various designs...

Hi Tristan, Just to explain (don't know if you know this or not) - most ships of this era wouldn't have that sort of gun fit for a couple of reasons: Difficulty aiming the guns - this pre-dates radar ranging, so seeing fall of shot is still an optical process. If you're close enough to be using your...

Well, if you've learned from it I wouldn't count it as an epic fail - USN cruiser designs were, for what they were required to do, fairly solid designs, so something that ends up looking like them is at least going to be practical. (I do feel your pain, kind of, the AU stuff I've done all somewhat r...

OK, but which different roles? Rebuilding it into an Atlanta would require major, major work (you'd basically be building a new ship). One rebuild that is a possibility is a light carrier, but I get the impression that this is not what you're discussing...
