Thank you, gentlemen!
It doesn't seem like this class was used very much as seaplane tenders, but seemed pretty useful as general-purpose ships.
That's why I just love this ship, silent hero of War.Four ships of the class - Mobjack, Oyster Bay, Wachapreague, and Willoughby - were built as motor torpedo boat tenders. After the war three ships of this class - USS Duxbury Bay (AVP-38), USS Greenwich Bay (AVP-41), and USS Valcour (AVP-55) - served as flagships in the Middle East. ![[ img ]](http://i1086.photobucket.com/albums/j444/WhyMe-PB/ShipBucket/AVP-38DuxburyBay.png~original) In the 60's they received new masts, electronics and modified superstructures.
