Yes, one needs to get used to it, but that's the colour she had (and so did the 2nd MAURETANIA (now THAT would be a great one to see) and I believe the IVERNIA and FRANCONIA also carried this green scheme at some point.

Lurian: you nailed it, this is the colour! great drawing.
The Franconia also wore a white scheme from 1967 until being sold in 1973.

Cunardfan: that's right, but didn't she also carry the green scheme from the early 60s (after her conversion) till 1967?

Yes from 1962 to 1967, as did the Carmania (formerly Ivernia)

Indeed a lovely drawing (if lovely is the right word to use). In fact the green colour of the Caronia is actually known as "Caronia" green, and if I'm not mistaken the Franconia and Carmania both were painted "Caronia" green, in 1963 when refitted for winter cruising.

Now to somewhat of an oddity - yet perhaps the most ordinary type of vessel imaginable.

This is MV Turicum, a Supramax bulk carrier operated by "Reederei Zürich AG" under Swiss Flag. Port of Registry is Basel... in case someone was wondering.

Turicum was built by Tsuneishi Group (Zhousan) Shipbilding Inc. She’s a variant of the Tsuneishi's popular TESS-58 design (dwt 58'000 t). Rederei Zürich operates two more TESS-58 vessels. Turicum's sister Vindonissa, also built in 2012, and a slightly older sibling the Aventicum, built in 2010. They are named after roman cities within Switzerland. A fourth, the Curia is under construction.

Her designed draft is 12m, but this would not fit on the template. Thus she's rendered in light condition i.e. 5.8m draft.

Very nice one, Lurian. I'm not what you would call a modern ships buff, but I do appreciate a good drawing when I see one.

Good work Lurian!
I guess that this ship isn't visiting her homeport too often.

Here is another ship from a company long gone. The motor vessel Circassia of Anchor Line was built in 1937 for the UK to India. During WW2 the ship served as an AMC (armed merchant cruiser) and later as a troop ship and finally as Landing Ship Infantry. After the she was returned to her owners, and was eventually scrapped in 1965.
