Yes, I just 'cut and paste' Ariel from a Word document, and it seems to work, but maybe only on XP? BTW, no offence, as this is a trully an excellent drawing, but the reason why we ask folk to first post in Beginners is to allow a 'level playing field' - no favourites :)

There's a difference between long and thin and just thin though ;)

But yeah, double-checking and actually measuring, it's not off at all.

I do love the doubly supported propellers, an interesting break from the norm

Not really - it's a function of hull contour. Most modern ('fast') combatants still have a V-shaped support bracket for the shaft, but the inner part of the 'V' is hidden due to the relatively flat profile of the bottom of the stern.

Looks like a fine drawing, I'm no expert on 19th Century ships but it looks very well drawn.
Welcome aboard.

Thanks guys! Glad I'm welcome. I like drawing the pre-dreadnought era ships, they're my favorites.

Welcome aboard, and I salute this effort of a French pe-Dreadnaught.
As for text in MS-Paint, I just turned anti-aliasing on my computer.
How to is explained Here
