That's excellent work eswube, you've certainly refined your style in your absence from drawing ships.
I wouldn't say there's any real 'refinement' in my drawing style - not much more than any refinement any of us exhibits over time. It's rather The Style that has become more refined. Basically the only styllistical change (in terms of 'methods of work') compared to my earlier drawings lies in the shading of underwater hull - which is also a result of community-wide evolution - though strictly speaking it's not as much a literal application of '45-degree rule' but rather my own 'variation on a theme'.
What makes the drawing look 'more refined' is the use of different colors/shades for the underwater hull and the glass. If You would replace the ones used with the 'traditional', rather gaudy and intense red and blue, You'd get a drawing looking exactly like average 2011 one. ;)

speaking about that hull shading, I wonder how in the bow it can go directly from dark shade to light shade without a knuckle?

Another small addition.

German riverine icebreaker built in 1896 at Schichau at Elbling as Drewenz and used at Gdańsk (then Danzig). In 1945 sunk by Soviet aviation. In Poland raised, repaired and rebuilt 1946-1948 as Pantera, used again at the lower Wisła until 1969 and scrapped in 1971.

Good looking small vessel. Also a very well executed drawing :)

I like these two a lot, not only are the shapes very appealing but the colours have been very well chosen. I do wonder if the skeg should be shaded like it is though.
