They are indeed. They said to be the best cutters prior to Hamiltons.

Anyhow, here's WPG-36 Spencer as in 1943. The floatplane is removed; four 3"/50 guns, six K-guns and eight 20mm Oerlikons have been added as well as two depth charge racks.

According to this photo Spencer was wearing camouflage around that time. Does anyone know what camouflage measure is that and how it is supposed to look on the starboard? I would really like to give her a camo but I have no idea where to find info on this particular pattern...

Here's Taney after her modification in 1944. She was the only cutter of Treasury class to have four 5" guns.
