Returning to Portsmouth...

This is High Speed Catamaran OUR LADY PAMELA traveling at 30kts to Ryde (IoW) and carrying nearly 400 passengers. She was built by Incat in Hobart and entered service in 1986 in this livery.

And her final livery before she was sold for scrap in 2009...

and she can't be much of a sea boat.


btw. 23 years is good for a aluminum boat. aluminum haw a tendency to start to be week/tired after some "XX" years!

395 to be precise.

They had a 12m beam so they were pretty sturdy. I remember going on them a couple of times but not in any kind of sea. When they're not moving at speed you got thrown around a bit.

I still find it hard to believe that thing can carry 395 people in anything but standing room.

Oh come on; have you ever ridden a city bus? Just compare its size to that of the boat. Maybe it's not super comfy but should be good enough for an hour ride.
