Bismarck never had a previous engagement. Unternehmen Rheinübung was the Bismarck's sole combat sortie.

To the right of the circle is the ladders which allow cre to disembark via the boats, perhaps it is something to do with the boats/motor launches.

I can't say for certain, but since the smudges can be seen on different dates, I believe these to be blotches of paint.
