Beautiful! I'm usually no sucker for American ship design, but the Fletchers are among the exceptions! :D

She's a dandy - one of my favourite classes of destroyer. Colesseum, do you think you could do a 1950's version with the tripod mast? That's when I think the Fletchers, Sumners and Gearings were looking their ultimate best.

Thanks all.

Re: drawing the entire class, another case of a tall order as there were hundreds of these ships produced. ;) I appreciate the confidence in my meager drawing skills, but my time is unfortunately very limited these days and it's frankly a wonder that I've even been able to do as much as I have...

Re: post-war refits, well unfortunately my policy has always been 'stop at 1945'. Otherwise the projects get a bit too overwhelming. Other artists are as always free to revise my work into whatever shape and size they wish - I will provide layered Photoshop PSD files for anyone who requests them to help with this process.

Even with your "up to 1945" policy, you have some work to do with the DD-445 class :D
Do not forget to draw
- the early studies design (1937-1940)
- a early version (spring/summer 1942) with 1 quadruple 28mm, some 20mm & camo
- A version with catapult aft
- a version with 3 twin 40mm (late 1942/late 1943)
- a version with 5 twin 40mm (late 1943/early 1945)
- the ultimate 1945 version (anti-kamikaze AA refit, spring/summer 1945) with 2 quadruple 40mm

Yes, thanks Mike, I know how to do various versions of a class of ships. ;)

Most of these have already been done in some form or fashion but I have not updated them with any of the new parts (they were drawn in spring of 2012):

For the record - I don't consider any of them "up to snuff" and will revise them at some point.

175 were commissioned, with the Johnston among the most distinguished due to her gallant stand off of Leyte. An outstanding general purpose destroyer of WW II and there were as many available as you needed.
