Are those proper turrets or fixed in traverse?
That is one wacky scheme, underwater speed would have been slow, and how do you protect against leaks around the turret base?

Are real tuttets with 270 deg rotation. The drawings (the section) do not explain much about the sealing of the turrets.

Perhaps they were wet-mounts like on that British submarine they turned into a carrier.

That's much more true today than it is back then - a single Mk.48 ADCAP basically costs the same as a single BGM-109 Tomahawk. I believe a single 5-54 shell is only in the five figure range at best.

here is the project B3 made by Bernardis in 1922: it is a preliminary project for a "large" submarine of about 2.700-3200 ton.
It was armed with two twin tuttets for 152/50, 4 torpedo tube in the hull (as usual) plus other 2 twin external torpedo tubes (adjustable).
No info about the turrets: probably sealed as the X1 but it is not evident the solution.
Anyhow the hull shows the wish for a fast unit...
