Here is a very nice presentation on the TransArctica class. The presentation seems to date from February 2011. It would appear that Rederi AB Transatlantic is trying to flog the concept to authorities, and is trying to convince the US Coast Guard to bareboat charter a few of these vessel to fill up the gap until the US finally builds its own new icebreakers.

That's just awesome I've read on Swedish Ice Fleet - UNOLS! that she is scheduled to 2013. If that happens as planned she will soon could be transferred to real designs
