Hello again!
Now presenting two real projects that were being considered by the french in 1914 when three million heavily armed Germans suddenly appeared and changed priorities somewhat.
First, the Lamotte-Picquet-class light cruisers which were already in the early stages of construction when the war began. They were soon broken up, the names being assigned to another cruiser project ten years later.
No final decision had yet been made upon the construction of new battlecruisers; of the three projects under discussion (Gille's design and the Projects A and B by Durand-Viel), only Durand-Viel's Project 'A' seems feasible to me (it also was the basis for my own
Magenta-design). Below her appearance as originally planned (as far as one can judge from a single primitive sketch in Breyer's Schlachtschiffe 1905-1970, that being the only reference I was able to obtain).
