My dear friend, I can't find any fault in your drawing. In fact I like your work very much, and so I think you should make the all French navy ships you can.

Hello again

No proper sources for that one, but certainly closer to reality than my previous interpretation (Foudroyant-class). I only know for sure that four units of 1.200 tons were planned, each with 4-100mm, 4-65 or 75mm, 4-450mm TTs, and 35 knots speed.

Of course, if anyone knows more about the french 1914 destroyer project (or the six turkish destroyers ordered from Normand in 1914), please let me know.

Greetings

Hello again

Another project I've only read about but never seen any pictures or diagrams of. According to Conway's, there was a 1917 project of a big destroyer with 4 138,6mm guns which served as a basis for development of the postwar Chacal-class. So, I've tried to morph the last prewar design (Aventurier) with the Chacal in order to come up with a plausible image. This is the result:

Good work, but you may want to explain the position of the torpedo tubes.

Hello

The TTs are four sets of twin 450mm placed along the sides of the ship the same way as on the Aventurier (only it were singles there). Centreline mounts would have been more useful, but with such big guns unfortunately not possible, as I tried to limit the length of the total package to 107m (as in the Normand-designed Novik derivatives). Besides, French designers never cared much about optimal placement of TTs (only look at Mogador or Hardi), so they probably would not have thought that arrangement strange in any way.

Why am I credited on the Normandie?
