A personal idea of mine, Yamato as she may have looked had she not participated in Ten Go and survived to July of 1945. Appearance similar to Aboa and Haruna while sitting in Kure with little fuel left in her bunkers in the last few months of the war, utilized as an AA platform.

I have a feeling that if the Yamato survied WWII she would have met the same fate as the Nagato and used as a target ship for operation Crossroads.

That or she would have been bombarded mercilessly like Haruna, Ise, and Hyuga; scrapped in place after the war.

Here is the first of the designs for Shinano mounted with 100mm type 98 AAA and commissioned in late 1943. The guns themselves are the open mounts that were utilized on the Oyodo. 15cm guns still in place.
