This is a great thread! Acelanceloet has done a great job drawing the early version of the class. I wish we had something similar for other classes, Spruance, burke and Long Beach for example.
be careful what you wish for.... :P
anyways, we have at least some early or alternative concepts for both spruance and burke in the never build folder of the main site, IIRC. that list is nowwhere near complete, though...

I'm not sure about the steel-dome SQQ-23. Certainly at some point, some such systems got rubber domes. This is CVS-33.

hmm. we don't have any data on the year and all?

but, I can agree that an rubber dome is more plausible. I mean, while the leahy had an steel dome in all pictures I have, the keel mounted CFA sonars had rubber covers at least at the end of their lives. as, IIRC, the spruances had rubber domes over their entire service life, I suppose the perry's would have had them too.

anyways, that is not an hard fix, will fix that today. EDIT: fixed.

I don't have any data on that right now. I can do some digging.

I agree that the Perry family would likely be rubber from the start.
