Great job Hood :D
Out of curiosity: what is the reason behind that peculiar shape of the stern above the waterline, near the flag staff?

Smurf, you make excellent points, I didn't point out the 16in gun issue but of course that was a major factor too.
I don't think the Nelsons were in any way inferior and in fact you could argue the opposite having given the Americans some sleepless nights (and incurring the hybrid battleship rumours that seemed to the infect US naval circles at this time) and they performed well.

BB1987, I'm not sure. My first thought was some kind of sternwalk of the traditional type, but the feature shows up in the G3 too. From top-views it seems to be a curved addition to the transom running across the full width of the transom stern. I sought out photos of models of G3 I noticed on one of the big really detailed ones the feature is a blank, solid feature as I show it here. I'm sure its not a sternwalk (unless its an enclosed one?) but its function is unknown to me.

Sure, go ahead.

Work has stalled a little on this series. I'm working on a 1926 proposal but got distracted by the O3, P3 and Q3 which I might add now, or come back to later.

Three new ships added to page 1 with fuller details.
These are the 1927 Battleships as drawn up just around the Geneva Convention, reflecting the minimal battleship thoughts at that time. The 1926 design is a previously unrevealed precursor to these designs. Thanks to Smurf for all the research he's made available to draw these.
