This was an Armstrong Elswick proposal for a Battleship armed with 10 15 inches cannons:

Hi pepembr_mb

Interesting, never heard about a proposal with triple turrets, which were a most un-british feature before the 1920s. I always understood the 10x381mm proposal had five twins (and only one funnel), but if you have sources that say triples, please show them, and I'll have learned something!

BTW, the final proposal for Riachuelo had only 8x381mm.

The 10x381mm was rejected,

just like one with 8x406mm and 6x234mm

and one with 12x356mm (no pictures found).

I drew the 8x381mm version for my AU, but I have never found out her exact length, so I've never submitted her for the archive. http://www.shipbucket.com/forums/viewto ... 0&start=70

Drawing-wise, the barbettes look to massive; there is some rigging at the flagstaff that leads to nowhere, and a gap in the shaft. The existing sources also all place the whole secondary battery at upper-deck level; there would be no casemates at main-deck level, with or without guns.

Hope this helped. I'd love to see the 8x406 design drawn, that one looked gorgeous IMHO.

Greetings
GD

Garlic Design, the design I have shows the same configuration I used. All designs presented and accepted by Brazilian Navy have 10 15 inches cannons. The "A" model with three 14 inches twin turrets groups were discarded at a very preliminary phase. The "B" model used five twin 15 inches cannons. The last two designs (C and D) used two triple and two twins turrets. Of course, my poor work it's on preliminary state and all your remarks are welcomed.

PS: Please, mark the points in the design

Hi. Is this battleship the basis of the 7 turreted Azincourt? Thanks and cheers.

Yeah it probably needs a drawing from scratch rather than trying to kitbash my old crappy QE drawings from ages ago.
I did promise someone a shiny new QE but work on that slipway hasn't got very far.

Reytuerto, Agincourt was discarded because she was outclassed by new Chilean battleships. The Riachuelo was to be the non plus ultra South American battleship.

My dear Hood, I think your "old crappy QE drawings from ages ago" still serves as a good basis for a new design. Riachuelo is in a preliminary phase. With right shading and a more careful design it may get a good portrait of Armstrong Elswick proposal.

Hood, using your "crappy QE drawings from ages ago", Garlic Design's keel style and inputs and Tony Gibbon's and Brazilian Navy info I got this thing:

Dear Garlic Design, you can get the eight gun proposal real size using the 15 inches turrets to get the scale of your blueprint. It'll be fantastic to see your Riachuelo rendition. I'll design some what ifs drawings of it in the interwar and Second World War periods.
