Royal Dutch Navy & Coast Guard structure

Due to budget cuts the ''kustwacht'' (coast guard) will be integrated into the RNLN, the structure would be the same as that of the USCG. The two organizations will work together to achieve their Tasks.
The main tasks for the RNLN are
- Safety at Sea
- Safety from Sea
- National maritime tasks

The main tasks of the RNLCG are
- Search And Rescue
- protection of the EEZ
- Fisheries protection

The kustwacht will become a separate part in the RNLN organization, the name will be changed in to the RNLCG
The renewed coast guard will get a fleet of 14 Ocean going ships for their tasks, also some armed ship for the lower violence spectrum, for (weapon) embargo missions , anti piracy and counter-drug operations. Also a small number of inshore/coastal ships are part of the fleet.

The Ocean Going Fleet
- 2 Emergency Towing Vessels (ETV)
- 3 Hydrographic Research Vessels (HRV)
- 3 Medium Range Patrol Vessels (MRPV)
- 3 Long Range Patrol Vessels (LRPV)
- 1 High Endurance Patrol Vessel (HEPV)
- 2 Multirole Maritime Operations Vessels (MMOV)

The Coastal Fleet
-3 Sea going buoy tenders (SBT)
- 4 Coastal buoy tenders (CBT)
- 8 Harbor Patrol Vessels (HPV)

New build projects for the RNLCG
- Emergency Towing Vessels (2x)
- Medium Range Patrol Vessels (3x)
- Long Range Patrol Vessels (3x)
- High Endurance Patrol Vessel (1x)

and some smaller boats

Royal Netherlands Coast Guard Aviation
The RNLCGA will be a separate part of the RNLAF, consisting of a small fleet of turboprop aircraft and helicopters.
Aircrafts in the fleet
- 4x EADS CASA C-295 MPA
- 2x EADS CASA C-295 Medevac
- 6 x AW-149 CASEVAC helicopter (also onboard the LRPV/HEPV. And capable of landing on MMOV)*
- 4 x AW-101 CASEVAC/SAR for land based deployments.

The helicopters will be based at Maritime Airbase ‘’De Kooy’’ at Den Helder and the aircraft will be located at Coast Guard air station ‘’Schiphol ‘’ near Amsterdam.
Due to the purchase of the AW-149's the all NH-90's off the RNLAF/RNLN can be placed onboard ships or operate in other missions.

* To replace the ageing AB-412 SAR helicopters (1994) and Alouette III (1963) in SAR and VIP tasks a total of 8 AW-149's will be bought ,six for the RNLCG and two extra AW-149's will be bought for the VIP tasks under RNLAF command.

Medium Range Patrol Vessels (3x)

ships in class
- Olivier van Noort
- Willem van Houten
- Dorus Rijkers

The two ships Visarend and Zeearend will be replaced around 2016-218. The new MRPV’s will be 63 m long and 12 m wide. They will be capable of speeds up to 22 knots with a range of 5,500 nautical miles.
The ships will be deployed mostly in the North Sea but also can be used in international operations, therefore they are equipped with modern sensors as IR/NV camera’s and Surface radars which are capable of locating small objects in the water from 3 nm from the ship. They also are equipped with firefighting equipment and a 30mm Dual purpose Gun for self defense. The ships are capable of Helicopter In-Flight Refueling (HIFR).

Long Range Patrol Vessels

Ships in class:
- Prins Hendrik
- Prins Willem III
- Prins Bernhard

Due to the new possible tasks for the RNLCG they required a new type of ship for long range deployments at the Atlantic/Caribbean and for disaster relief operations. The ships will be 98 m long and 14 m wide. They will have a top speed of 22 knots with a range of 10,000 nautical miles. The ships endurance is 21 days. They will be deployed on long range missions for international taskforces including pirate hunting and arms embargoes. For these missions they are armed with a 57 mm DP gun and 2 automated .50 cal machineguns. The stern will feature a helicopter deck with hangar for a medium-weight helicopter, underneath the helicopter deck a special deck will be arranged that can be used as multi-role mission deck for RHIB’s or other boats, the deck can also be converted to accommodate 75 persons. These ships will have a cargo capacity on the upper deck (238 m2) with a crane 3t at 15 m.

Nice work, but PLEASE get rid of those horrible old Merlin helos. We had a better model TWO years ago, on the old board.

I've reposted that in the Planebucket thread.
