I really enjoy the AU thread "Kriegsmarine 1946", and recently it got me thinking, why not make an similar thread for the IJN? Here are the first two ships, ideas I got from a website I saved pics from YEARS ago. this is an open thread...anyone can post ships!

The fourth Yamato-class BB is - like Shinano - converted to a carrier during construction, but is completed with an enclosed bow, deck-edge elevators, and a slightly different stern.

The fifth Yamato is completed as a hybrid, like the Ise-class conversions. The large catapults are angled off to port and starboard so as to - obviously - prevent aircraft from being launched directly into the superstructure.

That underwaterhull on the Yamato is not correct, saved as JPEG...

The fifth Yamato is (obviously) a kitbash of the Yamato and Shinano from the SB archives. I'm not going to delude myself into thinking I can create masterpieces like the drawings I've seen on here...I'm a kitbasher through and through!

eltf177: As a matter of fact, I've got a CL almost ready...I just need a drawing of an Ohka...anyone drawn one of those on this forum yet? I looked, but didn't have any luck.
