Overview
Serverniya, more commonly known as the Union of Serverniyan, Sovereign, Federal, Republics (U.S.S.F.R.) is a sovereign communist state located on the Northern side of the continent of Kalkaska in the world of Archangel. Serverniya is one of the world's two leading recognized superpowers (with the other superpower being the Federal Republic of Angevine). It was founded as Archangel's first constitutional socialist state in 1905, with its capital in Fennigrad. Serverniya is the world's foremost recognized superpower, with the largest nominal defense budget and the foremost industrial, military and economic superpower on Archangel. The Serverniyan Armed Forces are the largest on Archangel, only rival to the Angevin Armed Forces. Serverniya is a single-party state, ruled by the Ultramilitarist/Communist Party with Nataliya Solovena as the Prime Minister of the Union of Serverniyan Sovereign Federal Republics.

The Serverniyan Armed Forces
The Serverniyan Armed Forces serves as the nation's military force. Separated into different branches, they serve as the backbone of the Severniyan war machine. Conscription is mandatory at 18 months required service for all males 18 and older, though there are alternatives such as enlisting in the Armed Forces. Females can enlist for military service in combat and non combat roles. Many who chose to enlist stay in the Armed Forces for ten years before leaving for civilian life.

The branches of the Armed Forces consist of the Serverniyan Ground Forces, which oversees the Serverniyan Armor Corp, Serverniyan Missile Troops and Artillery, Air Defence Troops of the Serverniyan Ground Forces, Serverniyan Signal Corp, Serverniyan Engineer Corp, Serverniyan NBC Protection Corp, and Special Forces of the Serverniyan Ground Forces. The Serverniyan Navy, which oversees the Serverniyan Naval Infantry Corp, Serverniyan Coast Guard, and Serverniyan Naval Aviation Corp. The Serverniyan Air Forces, which oversees the Serverniyan Air and Missile Defense Forces, and Serverniyan Airborne Forces. Other Independent branches include the Strategic Rocket Forces, while for Staff Command, it is controlled by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Serverniya, Which oversees the Serverniyan Student Reserve Force. For intelligence and national Security include, Serverniyan National Security Forces, and the KGB.

Serverniyan Ground Forces
The Serverniyan Ground Forces is the largest of the three main branches, consisting of around 3.6 million active personnel and 4.1 million reserve personnel. This is divided between different Sub-Branches under a simplified structure for easier management.
The Ground Forces is its own combined force, ensuring security and safety of the vast territory of Serverniya.

The Serverniyan Armor Corp is responsible for armored forces. They are mainly used in conjunction with the motorized rifle troops in the main areas and perform the following tasks:
In defense-on direct support of the motorized rifle troops in repelling the enemy and the application of counter-attacks.
In offense-on delivering powerful strikes and defeating the enemy in engagements.
The Tank Corps are made up of divisions, brigades, regiments and battalions of motorized rifle and tank brigades which are trained in resistance to the damaging effects of nuclear weapons, have high firepower, high mobility and maneuverability.

The Serverniyan Missile Troops and Artillery Corp Are the primary combined-arms unit of the Ground Forces, they are trained to perform the following main tasks:
Achieving and keeping fire superiority over the enemy.
Defeat of its means of nuclear attack, manpower, weapons, military and Special equipment.
Destruction of long-term defense installations and other infastructure.
Weakening and isolating enemy forces.
Destruction of enemy armor units.
Covering open flanks and junctions.
Organisationally consisting of missile, rocket and artillery brigades, including high-power mixed, artillery battalions, rocket artillery regiments, separate recon battalions, and artillery of combined-arms brigades and military bases.

The Air Defence Troops of the Serverniyan Ground Forces Are the primary defense branch intended to cover troops and facilities from enemy air attacks. They are assigned to the following tasks:
Combat duty on air defense
Recon of enemy aircraft and warning the troops covered.
Destruction of enemy air units during their flight.
Conducting missile defense theaters of military action.
The Air Defence Troops consist of military control bodies, AD command points, anti-aircraft missile (rocket-artillery) and radio-technical formations, military units and subdivisions of the Air Defence Troops are equipped with anti-aircraft missiles, anti-aircraft artillery, anti-aircraft gun and missile systems and portable missile guidance systems.


The Serverniyan Signal Corp is the primary military communications branch that is an integral part of the Armed Forces. Its functions largely influence the efficiency of command, the timeliness of combat equipment and weapons. The signal corp specializes in audio, communications, transmission of signals and commands on the battlefield.

The Serverniyan Engineer Corp is the military engineering branch of the Ground Forces, specializing in communications, maintaining lines and military works. They also work in damaging enemy equipment via engineer ammunition or via sabotage.

The Serverniyan NBC Protection Corp is the branch for biological, chemical and radioactive during combat operations and non combat operations. They also serve cleanup operations during spills and other hazards.

The Special Forces of the Serverniyan Ground Forces also referred to as Spetsnaz, is the Special Forces branch of the Ground Forces, they conduct hostage recovery, counter-terrorism and infiltration. They are also regarded as one of the deadliest Special Forces in the Archangel.

Serverniyan Navy

The Naval power of Serverniya, the Serverniyan Navy is one of the world's largest navies with around 467,000 personnel, close to around 2,000 aircraft, and close to 400 active ships. Like the Ground Forces, it also has sub-branches for different tasks and management.

The Serverniyan Naval Infantry Corp, often referred to as the Serverniyan Marines, operates as the Naval infantry for the Serverniya Navy. Capable of conducting amphibious operations as well as operating as light infantry. The naval infantry also fields the navy’s only special operations unit, known as the “Commando Frogmen”.

The Serverniyan Coast Guard is the coast guard of Serverniya. The purpose of the Coast Guard of Serverniya is to create a modern comprehensive and multifunctional system for protecting the national interests of Serverniya in the border area on coastlines, Inland sea waters and territorial waters. They also act as a regulation force for commercial, economic and public works, especially fishing and other maritime activities.

The Serverniyan Naval Aviation Corp is the air arm of the Serverniyan Navy. Serving mostly for anti-submarine warfare and search and rescue operations, the SNAC also operates airborne fighters to defend their flotillas during times of war.

Serverniyan Air Forces

The Serverniyan Air Force is among the largest in the world rivaling that of the Angevin Royal Air Force, operating around 10,000 aircraft and consisting around 365,000 personnel. Like the other two main branches of the Armed Forces, the Air Force also has sub-branches for different tasks and management.
The Serverniyan Air and Missile Defence Forces is the branch responsible for all strategic land based air defense. They also serve alongside the Air Defence Troops of the Serverniyan Ground Forces.

The Serverniyan Airborne Forces also known as “Angels of Death” is the Paratrooping branch of the Air Force. The Airborne forces utilize a range of specialist airborne warfare vehicles and other various forms of weapons. The Airborne Forces specialize in sieging behind enemy lines, infiltration and mass assault.

Strategic Rocket Forces

The Strategic Rocket Forces of Serverniya is a branch of the armed forces that controls Serverniya’s land-based ICBMs. They are intended as the main force intended to attack an enemy’s offensive nuclear weapons, military facilities, and industrial infrastructure. Together with the Serverniyan Air Forces and Navy they form Serverniya’s nuclear triad.

General Staff of the Armed Forces of Serverniya

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Serverniya is the military staff of the Armed Forces. It is the central organ of the military command of the Armed Forces Administration and oversees operational command of the Armed Forces under the Serverniyan Ministry of Defence.

The Serverniyan Student Reserve Force, a branch open for the academic/athletic youth for ages 14-18 with the approval of a parent or guardian. Since this is a reserve force, this branch never sees combat unless it’s under strict circumstances, such as an invasion from a foreign power. To gain a slot in the SSRF, there are required medical, physical, and fitness exams and a maintaining a 3.0 GPA. The first year of SSRF is mostly focused on physical fitness, survival skills, and marksmanship training. Second year moves towards more advanced exercises including mock infantry combat. Third year provides an opportunity to choose between the Ground Forces, Navy and Air Force. A majority of SSRF students don't stay past the third year and go into standard service in the second year, while those who stay in the third year are guaranteed into officer training.

Serverniyan National Security Forces

The Serverniyan National Security Forces is a gendarmerie-like force that supports the Serverniyan National Police, dealing with crowd control during riots and internal strife, as well as guarding important facilities such as a nuclear power plant.

KGB

The KGB, also known as the Committee for State Security is responsible for carrying out internal security, foreign intelligence, counter-intelligence and secret police functions.

History (1600s-Present)
Founding (1600-1650s)
A small, northern, landlocked country known as Serveyiya had begun a serious juggernaut of bloody conquests against the disgusting fiefdoms that surrounded it. It succeeded, and the peoples of all the countries that were united, were then called Imperial Serverniya, and the borders between all the states had faded indefinitely into one powerhouse.


Imperial Era (1650s-1890s)
As soon as Serverniya formed, it began to modernize under a monarchy like Russia. However, a number of people were still poor and dissatisfied with the government. Commoners were starving, and the infrastructure was frighteningly weak.


Great Calamity (1910s-1940s)

The Great Calamity began 6 years after the Soviet government’s finalization in 1905, the Calamity was a three decade long conflict that lasted until the late 1940s. This was how a majority of the world's powers had new technologies, some of which were advanced. (like after World War 2 in real life.)

Post War (1949-1955)

The Post War
Red Communist State (1900s-1980s)
In the mid 1900's the imperial monarchy was eventually massacred and overthrown by Communist Revolutionaries. This revolution helped many people, but it actually made many more people poor - but an equal level in social class. It did bring some major improvements to the culture and architecture of Serverniya. Public works projects (magnificent and expensive monuments to the Revolution) were started at the capital city of Fennigrad, Okchabursk was built and founded, & propaganda and security, e.g. socialist-biased books, giant posters, Party billboards, radio stations, the 'State Surveillance Agency', and the GULAGs, kept the Serverniyan people under the constant authority blanket and pounded to brainwash them into this system of political thinking.
Once these tasks were accomplished, the Socialist Republic of Serverniya's Politburo turned to international and regional affairs, so they could find some loops to spread their influence. In the 1980s, the government had grown extremely unstable, due to corruption of the military leadership.With the Deposition of Gerasim Zakharov in 1984, Serverniya began some reforms. Also, in the neighboring Republic of Cincin, a long lasting civil war was re-ignited. A deal with the people of the CLA to help them overthrow the Cicin Republic Government. Serverniya, bordering each Faction/country north, could not stand by and watch and thus intervened in 1986. Eventually Serverniya became known as the Union of Serverniyan, Sovereign, Federal, Republics.


Cicin Crisis(1986-1994)
The Republic of Cincin, had seen Serverniya’s stand against them and mobilized their military forces. Serverniya then sent a portion of the ground forces, along with a large part of their air force to attack them. The southern Borders then broke out into conflict; this is later known as the “Cincin Crisis''.
In one of the fiercest battles of the dispute, called the “Battle for Keqing”, the Serverniyan 9th Air Division 91st Tactical Fighter Squadron managed to destroy all of the Cicin Republic Northern Branch Squadrons by themselves, while suffering a staggering loss of 80% of their aircraft. Because of these efforts, the Republic of Cicin was pushed back. An operation was carried out in 1987 against the remaining Forces in Eastern Keqing.
In Yagika, fighting broke out. Unlike previous conflicts, the fighting was described as genocidal and there were reports of suicidal attacks against the Serverniyan Forces in the area. Once again the Serverniyan 9th Air Division 91st Tactical Fighter Squadron was deployed and once again played a large role in those battles. However, at the end of the conflict many soldiers and pilots began to suffer from mental anguish and shock. Many of the soldiers that had left the Military after this; many of the pilots from the 112th TFS also left. But one of the few pilots that remained in the service was a famous ace pilot named Dmitry Moscva
Years later in early 1994, the Cincin War came to an end, with the treaty of Keqing, Cincin Republic lost some of its western territory to the PRC. (The Cincin Republic joined OFN right after this war.)

Period of Peace/Detente (1996-2010)
Serverniya had maintained its friendly-rival relationship with Angevine and the other OFN Nations, but soon it only had strong ties with PRC. As each country continued to support one another over the years, things seemed well.
When communications started to break down, the two countries became the two largest superpowers on the planet and for a period of time after the Cincin War, the two had entered a sort of cold war.
During this time each side began to produce new weapons technologies; Serverniya had secretly completed four November Class Submarines. This new class of submarine could act as an aircraft carrier, missile launch platform, and front line command center. They also could deploy a new Serverniyan variant of the burst missile adding to their already devastating fire power. Angevin officials did not know about these submarines until 2010. The three ships became the pride of the Serverniyan navy.
In mid-2010 ties between Angevine and Serverniya had ceased almost completely; nobody really knew what was going on until late 2010. The cold war was at its all time high, and with the accidental shootdown of a Angevin Airliner in the North Orion Ocean things almost went to full scale nuclear war.

The Cold war dies down (2010-2013)
After Tensions were calmed down though emergency talks, both powers lowered down their weapons of mass destruction, and continued on as normal. The cold war began to simmer down as both began to learn to co-exist after the 2010 Nuclear crisis, It wasn't until mid-2013 that the arms race had officially ended. Relations with the west had begun to balance out to a more neutral relationship especially with Angevine.




Silent-Cold War (2013-Onward)

As tensions lowered the relations between Serverniya and Angevine began to improve and the two nations became strong friendly rivals on the world stage, as they were in the early 2000s. This relationship has continued on in the future. Many reforms took place, and democracy had found its way into the hearts and minds of the Serverniyan people; the government gradually wilted away its socialist ways during the years that followed. Its national economy of partly state-owned corporations was large enough to humble the pool of conglomerates that usurped territorial control of nations during the Era of Reform and also state security there intelligence agency was keeping them under constant watch.
In the 2020s, Nataliya was the first female voted by the party to become prime minister and with the growing tensions, Nataliya ensured that Serverniya would protect her interests and the motherland.
