This AU is fantastic! You did a great job making the ships.

Thanks. Found the carrier drawing I started ages ago when cleaning out my external hard drive to free some space so might try and finish that one first. Turns out I'd already finished most of the detailing with only the island and air wing to complete.

Also found a number of submarine designs and an early battle cruiser proposal pre-ww1 which I might also finish and post here. The submarines in particular as I like drawing them and there's not enough of them on here.

And here is that carrier drawing, I've decided to redo most of the detailing such as the portholes in order to match newer standards and to make it look tidier in the end result. The island still needs separating from the flight deck itself with a sponson but haven't decided how large to make it yet. AA weapons along the flight deck have also been removed as I wanted to rethink their positioning.

Been finalizing the naval doctrine established in 1937 that the building programs of 1938 and 1939 strived to achieve. Here is a brief summary;

Upon outbreak of hostilities against the Imperial Japanese empire, the fleet submarines and land based air patrols will create a picket line along Sierans ocean borders. If enemy units are spotted, depending upon the strength of the force, The surface fleet will sortie either to engage or bait the enemy.

If the chances of defeating the enemy force is likely, a combination of submarine and air attacks will harass the enemy to weaken and disperse their forces and cause confusion. The destroyers and light cruisers will then join in with long range torpedo strikes to further the confusion. After this the heavy surface force of high speed battle cruisers and heavy cruisers will pick off the enemy units at long to medium range.

If however the force is superior, assets of the surface fleet will be used to bait the enemy towards the shores. Here the enemy will be lured into the second picket line of submarines as well as extensive minefields. This strategy also would draw the enemy units within range of air force bombers and coastal batteries to aid the surface fleet in overwhelming or whittling down the enemies forces or alternatively forcing their retreat.

In order to achieve these strategies, no new traditional battleships are to be built. Instead, high speed cruiser killers with medium armor and high speed will use their 10-12in firepower to destroy enemy cruisers with impunity and be able to outrun more significant opponents.

The destroyer fleet will be upgraded and boosted along with the light cruiser force. Existing cruisers will be rebuilt and modernized. The building programs will focus upon MTBs, submarines and destroyers capable of undertaking the torpedo strike and recconisance missions.

The existing aircraft carriers will be completed to provide the surface fleet with air cover and engage enemy air units at distance. Carrier aircraft will also support the surface units in attacking significant targets.

Overall Sieran has abandoned the strategy of controlling the seas but rather serving as a deterrent and fleet in being to deter enemy hostile forces from being brought too close. Cruisers and submarines will also be used as commerce raiders whilst escorts will support Sierans own trade.
