Since this is an AU, is it safe to assume perhaps these unmanned ships have the ability to do those things?

A crew of three can fly a huge plane, a crew of one or two can drive a mighty train etc, why not a ship with the same principles?

Indeed, neither of the two are away from maintenance facilities for any period of time (with the slight exception of some locomotives being based further away from their home depots but even then maintenance can be and is done whilst they are not in operation.

What we're trying to drill into your head is that an unmanned ship still needs maintenance. Like I said, I like the idea of an unmanned vessel - it would be perfect for the littorals or as an escort vessel - but at the least it still needs to pull into depots for regular maintenance like any other ship, and likely would need tender vessels too. So these things need to be kept in mind.

Just curious how many people have served on warships in any capacity?
