Bloody hell, it's been a while since I drew a single ship in less than 24 hours, much less a battleship with a top-view.
In the Capital Ship section. you will find the remake of the HGrMS Sverkre Grip, as commissioned. She has yet to recieve any modernisations, but I hope to remedy that soon enough. I'm rather happy with the drawing, even though it might be a bit sparse with details.

PS: No, I don't have a strange fetish for laying down capital ships at year seven every decade... it's just happened to end up like that so far...

Hey KHT, were some engineers drunk and a little loopy-eyed when designing that Sverkre Grip BB? ;) 8-) The fore funnel seems to tilt perilously backwards, like it lacks front braces or something! It kinda looks odd, unbalanced and really like a bad design choice. Slanted funnels are fine, in fact, they can be outright gorgeous, but in the Sverkre Grip's case, it just looks like a careless job. Solution: either straighten it up, or slant it farther and see how that'll look like! even trunking it, a la HMS Sverige would probably be nice! :D

Are you calling me loopy-eyed? ;)
Hm, I rather liked how it looked... I think I'm going to straighten it it that case. I hate making Sverige Style funnels(they're hard to make good-looking), but I might give it a shot. For the mid-30s modernisation it will have a single trunked funnel, that much is certain.
Looking good otherwise?

EDIT: I tried a Sverige/Nagato Style funnel arrangement instead, and liked it. So it's there. ;)

Much better! At least now a slight slant is logically explained! (Plus your FCD in the foretop will be happy with less hot gases twirling around them!

Nice Drawings KHT.
If you give the Sverkre a pagoda mast then you might even manage to sneak into Yokosuka harbor at night

Interesting looking silhouette indeed, does have that blending of European and Asiatic in it.

Why, thank you! I'm glad you think so! :D

EDIT: Elftf177 noted an error in the springsharp(I've posted the SG on Warship Projects as well), which gave me a bit more weight to play with. While I didn't post the 'sharp here, I've changed the given data(thicker armour at some places, and another knot of speed as well as more range).

I went ahead and SS'd the D-class, it works quite well except I couldn't meet he 1,800 tonne displacement limit. However, the 250 rpg could probably be cut back to 200 rpg which would help...

********************

D-Class, Gotridge Destroyer laid down 1929

Displacement:
2,248 t light; 2,340 t standard; 2,525 t normal; 2,672 t full load

Dimensions: Length overall / water x beam x draught
365.08 ft / 360.89 ft x 39.37 ft x 13.94 ft (normal load)
111.28 m / 110.00 m x 12.00 m x 4.25 m

Armament:
4 - 5.12" / 130 mm guns (2x2 guns), 67.03lbs / 30.40kg shells, 1929 Model
Breech loading guns in deck mounts with hoists
on centreline ends, evenly spread
2 - 2.95" / 75.0 mm guns (1x2 guns), 12.87lbs / 5.84kg shells, 1929 Model
Dual purpose guns in a deck mount with hoist
on centreline aft, all raised guns - superfiring
2 - 0.51" / 13.0 mm guns in single mounts, 0.07lbs / 0.03kg shells, 1929 Model
Machine guns in deck mounts
on side, all amidships, all raised mounts - superfiring
Weight of broadside 294 lbs / 133 kg
Shells per gun, main battery: 250
6 - 21.0" / 533 mm above water torpedoes

Armour:
- Gun armour: Face (max) Other gunhouse (avg) Barbette/hoist (max)

Geared drive, 2 shafts, 58,217 shp / 43,430 Kw = 34.00 kts
Range 3,120nm at 15.00 kts
Bunker at max displacement = 332 tons

Complement:
177 - 231

Cost:
£1.242 million / $4.967 million

Distribution of weights at normal displacement:
Armament: 37 tons, 1.5 %

Hull, fittings & equipment: 708 tons, 28.1 %
Fuel, ammunition & stores: 277 tons, 11.0 %
Miscellaneous weights: 50 tons, 2.0 %

Overall survivability and seakeeping ability:
Survivability (Non-critical penetrating hits needed to sink ship):
560 lbs / 254 Kg = 8.4 x 5.1 " / 130 mm shells or 0.3 torpedoes
Stability (Unstable if below 1.00): 1.28
Metacentric height 1.9 ft / 0.6 m
Roll period: 11.9 seconds
Steadiness - As gun platform (Average = 50 %): 74 %
- Recoil effect (Restricted arc if above 1.00): 0.42
Seaboat quality (Average = 1.00): 1.23

Hull form characteristics:
Hull has a flush deck
Block coefficient: 0.446
Length to Beam Ratio: 9.17 : 1
'Natural speed' for length: 19.00 kts
Power going to wave formation at top speed: 70 %
Trim (Max stability = 0, Max steadiness = 100): 60
Bow angle (Positive = bow angles forward): 12.00 degrees
Stern overhang: -3.28 ft / -1.00 m
Freeboard (% = measuring location as a percentage of overall length):
- Stem: 19.69 ft / 6.00 m
- Forecastle (20 %): 19.69 ft / 6.00 m
- Mid (50 %): 19.69 ft / 6.00 m
- Quarterdeck (15 %): 19.69 ft / 6.00 m
- Stern: 19.69 ft / 6.00 m
- Average freeboard: 19.69 ft / 6.00 m
Ship tends to be wet forward

Ship space, strength and comments:
Space - Hull below water (magazines/engines, low = better): 197.3 %
- Above water (accommodation/working, high = better): 135.8 %
Waterplane Area: 9,034 Square feet or 839 Square metres
Displacement factor (Displacement / loading): 64 %
Structure weight / hull surface area: 35 lbs/sq ft or 171 Kg/sq metre
Hull strength (Relative):
- Cross-sectional: 0.41
- Longitudinal: 3.19
- Overall: 0.51
Hull space for machinery, storage, compartmentation is cramped
Room for accommodation and workspaces is excellent
Ship has slow, easy roll, a good, steady gun platform
Good seaboat, rides out heavy weather easily

TT's in triple centerline mounts.

Design works quite well but displacement of 1,800 tonnes (normal?) could not be met.
